1. Who we are

Academia de Șah is the project of A.C.S. Oxygen, a sports association affiliated with the Romanian Chess Federation (FRSAH). Services offered: chess courses for children and juniors at 4 physical centres in Bucharest (Sector 1 — Piața Domenii, Sector 2 — Ștefan cel Mare, Sector 3 — Ozana, Sector 5 & 6 — Cotroceni) and online, plus online courses for adults.

2. Scope of services

Through the academiadesah.ro platform and at the academy's physical centres, we offer:

• chess courses in level-based groups (initiation, beginners, intermediate, advanced, performance);
• a free trial lesson for initial assessment and group recommendation;
• participation in internal tournaments, monthly academy events and official FRSAH competitions;
• live online courses via Zoom and Chess.com for students from any city or country.

3. Enrolment and payment

Enrolment is done via the online form on the website (centre pages or the /en/signup page) or by direct contact (phone / email). After receiving your request, we contact you within 24 working hours to schedule the trial lesson.

Course fees are paid monthly, with each cycle being 4 weeks of training. Available packages (Essential / Active / Constant / Dedicated / Performance, as well as the Sports voucher and Visitor packages) are displayed on each centre's page and include access to training sessions and Academy event notifications. Payment is made at the start of each cycle, by the method agreed with the academy administration (cash / bank transfer).

The trial lesson is free and carries no subsequent obligations.

4. Participation rules

• students are expected to attend lessons at the agreed times, in accordance with the centre's schedule;
• parents or guardians may remain in the waiting area during the lesson;
• at physical centres, hall conduct rules apply (quiet environment, care for game materials, respect for other students and coaches);
• photography or filming during lessons is only permitted with the consent of the coach and the parents of all other children;
• any valuables brought to the premises remain the responsibility of the student or parent.

5. Cancellations and absences

Absences must be notified at least 24 hours in advance by phone or email. Lessons missed without notice cannot be made up. For planned absences (holidays, travel), we discuss individually the possibility of make-up sessions within the monthly cycle.

The monthly package may be cancelled at any time without penalty. No refunds are issued for a monthly cycle already started.

6. Liability

The academy makes every effort to ensure that the information on the website is correct and up to date. Centre schedules, the coach list, prices and group composition may change — enrolled students will be notified before any change that affects them.

The academy's liability in connection with services provided is limited to the value of the monthly package paid. The academy is not liable for indirect damages, lost opportunities or claims arising from external events (force majeure, legal restrictions, utility interruptions, etc.).

7. Intellectual property

The website content (texts, photographs, training materials, logos) is the property of A.C.S. Oxygen and Academia de Șah. Reproduction or redistribution without written consent is prohibited. Teaching materials made available to students are intended for personal use in the context of the courses.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated periodically. The current version is displayed on this page with the date of the last update. Continued use of the services after a new version is published constitutes acceptance of it.

9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes shall be resolved amicably. In the event of litigation, the competent courts are the Romanian courts at the registered seat of A.C.S. Oxygen.
